DESCRIPTION:Create your own custom pair of birch skis to meet your personal
  needs. In this course\, students will cover topics such as wood grain\, b
 ending wood\, bindings\, and information related to use and handling of th
 ese ancient tools of transportation. Craft your own pair of skis custom-si
 zed to your height\, weight\, and intended use and prepare to enjoy the wi
 ntry wonderland of backcountry and ski trails outside your back door. A ma
 terials fee of $150-$175 (depending on if you choose leather bindings or b
 ring your own) will be payable directly to the instructor while in class. 
 Note\, this is not a log to ski course\; the instructor will have done som
 e preliminary steps for each student in order for the project to be comple
 ted in the allotted time.
