DESCRIPTION:Join longtime local woodcarver Bruce Futterer in carving his la
 test clever and whimsical endeavor\, the gnome spoon. In this twist on tra
 dition\, Bruce combines two iconic Scandinavian motifs\, resulting in a pr
 oject that is fun to make and utilizes a variety of flat plane carving ski
 lls. Using a prepared basswood blank and a knife\, students will carve and
  paint a project that will bring a smile to anyone’s face and no doubt ins
 pire more creative carving mashups. Basswood blanks will be available for 
 purchase during class ($5 and up).
