DESCRIPTION:Follow the tracks of generations of northern folks and take adv
 antage of snow-covered roads\, sidewalks\, and trails by crafting a kick s
 led of birch wood this winter. In this class\, students will learn both ba
 sic and advanced woodworking skills—from laminating wood for making runner
 s to shaping a customized handlebar used for steering--and will walk (or g
 lide) away from this course with some carpentry know-how\, as well as a sl
 ed. Both hand tools and power tools will be used during the project. Up to
  two people may participate for the base tuition\, so this is a great fami
 ly project. A completed sled measures 72”L x 16”W x 36”H\, but collapses f
 or easy transport. With gloved hands\, grip the handlebars\, push\, and gl
 ide! Youth ages 8+ are welcome to register with an adult. A 25% tuition di
 scount applies to the youth registrant when registering with a full-paying
  adult\; call to register.
