DESCRIPTION:Do away with rigid\, non-breathable footwear and discover the p
 erfect footwear for your snowshoeing or cozy winter cabin adventure. The f
 lexibility of the natural materials used in construction allows the foot t
 o generate heat\, and a breathable layering system allows moisture to esca
 pe. In this course\, students will learn to make a pattern on their own fo
 ot and use it to cut out the leather and canvas pieces (a technique that m
 ay apply to other footwear projects\, including slippers and liners). The 
 leather will then be hand-stitched\, and a sewing machine will help with t
 he canvas seams. The instructor will provide the leather (moose or elk hid
 e)\, the canvas\, and sewing materials. Youth ages 12+ are welcome to regi
 ster with an adult. A 25% tuition discount applies to the youth registrant
  when registering with a full-paying adult\; call to register.
