Trees of the North Woods

Class

Do you know your neighbors? I mean the trees, of course. Join this three-season series to explore the lives of the North Woods canopy—once or all three times, if you can. Together, we will learn not just about the trees, but from, with, and for these enduring friends. From the flowing sap of spring and lush summer canopies to autumn’s brilliant transitions and the quiet, structural majesty of winter, we will track the forest’s changing face. Through sensory observation, seasonal phenology, and hands-on identification, we will build deep, year-round relationships with the species that define our region. By observing how they interact with the weather, wildlife, and each other, students will leave with a profound appreciation for our woody neighbors and the vibrant ecosystem we share. Let’s walk the woods together. Please note: Steady-footing will be required for uneven and potentially slippery walking surfaces.
